ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has asked the federal government to provide relief and protection to the health sector. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, he demanded that Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi should withdraw his statement. “We will not tolerate such words. Qureshi should either withdraw his statement or resign. The minister had left the PPP on the offer to become the prime minister. Now he is playing the same game in his party to become the PM,” he demanded. Bilawal Bhutto the locust attack had damaged crops in Sindh and as a result, the country faces a threat of food security. “The Centre should take practical steps instead of doing politics over the issue. We were promised six planes but only one was sent and there is no pilot to fly that plane. The locust problem is also there in Balochistan and Punjab but the federal government has failed in fulfilling its responsibility there too. When the NDMA had claimed that it was preparing for the locust attacks, why is it that no preparation can be seen?” He said that the prime minister should have attended the National Assembly session. “Presently the prime minister also holds the portfolio of the health minister and gets its salary as well. She should perform his duty as well,” he added. “President Zardari suffers from underlying conditions such as diabetes and cardiac complications. Shehbaz Sharif is a cancer patient, which is why they have refrained from attending the parliamentary session.” The PPP chairman paid tribute to the health workers and has demanded relief for them. To a question about the health of former president Asif Zardari, he said that according to the WHO’s guidelines, people with underlying conditions are advised to not leave their houses at all.
