Shah to replace Shah as Sindh CM after eight years

KARACHI (92 News) – In a major shift in the politics of Sindh, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has on Monday removed Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah from his post and decided to appoint provincial Finance Minister Murad Ali Shah as new Sindh CM. The decision was taken in a meeting of senior party leaders with PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in chair in Dubai yesterday. Qaim Ali Shah will submit his resignation to Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad and following Sindh CM’s resignation the provincial cabinet will also be dissolved. Sources said that party leadership has decided to appoint Nisar Khuhro as Sindh Home Minister, while Agha Siraj Durrani will be given the portfolio of Local Bodies Minister and Sikander Meandro is expected to be appointed Speaker Sindh Assembly. Shehla Raza is expected to be appointed as Minister for Education, while the PPP leadership has decided to remove Sohail Anwar Sial and Shermila Farooqi from their ministries. “PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is likely to appoint some close leaders as advisers and a meeting of PPP’s Parliamentary party will be held in Bilawal House on Wednesday,” sources added.
