Shahbaz Sharif announces Metro bus, IT University for Faisalabad

FAISALABAD (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has announced various development projects for Faisalabad, including the construction of Metro bus and IT University.

 

Addressing local bodies convention in the city on Saturday, he said an IT university will be set up in the city while work on Faisalabad safe city project will soon be started.

 

Referring to the mega projects launched by the present government in the power sector, the chief minister said that 7000 megawatt electricity will be added to the national grid by the end of this year.

 

He asked why those claiming for Gwadar had not laid its foundation, and added that calling Metro bus, a Jangla bus is its insult.

 

He also inaugurated a 50-bed Emergency block at Children hospital in Faisalabad completed at a cost of Rs 1.5 billion.

 

Speaking on the occasion, he said that modern hospitals equipped with latest healthcare facilities are being established across the province.

 

Shahbaz Sharif said this hospital will be expanded to a 1000-bed hospital to provide the best possible health care to children.

 

Earlier, the chief minister visited the residence of Inspector Fida Hussain Shaheed in Samundri who embraced martyrdom during an operation against terrorists in Sahiwal last month.

 

He paid tribute to martyred Inspector and expressed condolences with his family.

 

He announced the financial help of Rs 10 million for his family.
