Shahbaz Sharif orders books with wrong map of Punjab, KPK to be taken off market

LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Chief Minister on Saturday acting on the news broadcast on 92 News, ordered all the books with the incorrect map of the province be taken off the market. According to 92 News, students have also been asked to return the books containing the incorrect maps. Officials of the Punjab Textbook Board (PTB) were aware of printing of the wrong maps, but they had failed to take any action. Of the 150,000 books printed by the PTB, 50,ooo of them contained incorrect maps of Punjab, KPK and the boundary of Pakistan. The maps mentioned Hazara and Seraikistan as provinces and referred to Indian-held Kashmir as a disputed territory. Earlier, Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashood ordered an enquiry under Chairman Nawazish Ali; however, the books were printed under his supervision in the first place.
