Govt demanding resignation of ECP instead of apologizing: Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has termed the government's demand of the resignation of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members is an attack on institutions.

Addressing a press conference along with Maryam Nawaz on Monday, he said that it was pity that the government is demanding resignation of ECP high-ups instead of apologizing to it.

He said that they had discussed the long march, resignations and other issues during today's meeting.

PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz said that today the nation had known who was attacking the institutions. "It is a reality that the government could not get the votes despite rigging in the recent elections," she added.

She said that civil supremacy was the responsibility of all politicians. "Resignations will also be discussed in Tuesday's meeting of the PDM," she added.
