ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi questioned the 40 percent increase in the sugar price on Monday. Addressing a press conference, he also questioned who had granted permission to export sugar. “Despite a huge increase in the sugar price, the government did not take action against anyone,” he said. The former premier feared that the sugar price could be increased by 100 percent. “A subsidy was given on sugar in the PML-N era which was the need of the hour,” he added. Reacting to the statement of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the prime minister had fulfilled the promise of not concealing the facts from the public. “The nation is fighting against coronavirus. The opposition is using this opportunity for politics,” she said. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the person disintegrating the national unity at this moment cannot be a friend of the masses.
