LAHORE (92 News) – Adviser to Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar has challenged Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif to sue him in a British court. Talking to the media on Thursday, he said that former finance minister Ishaq Dar would be arrested and brought to Pakistan. “The NAB will soon write an application to bring back the absconders.” He said that dialogues to hand over the accused will be held between Pakistan and Britain after the election to the UK prime minister. “However, the British agencies are assisting us in the accountability process,” he said. The accountability adviser disclosed that three payments – Rs20 million, Rs13 million and Rs27 million – were made to Shehbaz Sharif’s son-in-law Ali Imran from the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA). He said that Naveed Ikram had illegally given Rs60 million to Ali Imran. “The UK paper had carried the story, but I am being held responsible for it,” he declared. “Naveed Ikram had given the power of attorney to Ali Imran after purchasing 80 kanals of land.” Shahzad Akbar said that the Shehbaz family had done the money laundering amounting to Rs260 million. “Over 200 telegraphic transfers were made and Shehbaz Sharif has not replied to any allegation. Properties have been frozen as they were purchased through TTs,” he added. He said that a country is not defamed through accountability. “I will make more disclosures next week. Shehbaz Sharif’s drama will not work more,” he announced. “There is provision of the plea bargain in the NAB law. We have a very weak prosecution and lack resources as well. The delay in our system is a routine matter.” Shahbaz Gill, spokesman for the Punjab chief, said that Shehbaz Sharif had used the PM’s plane for 526 times. He said that why the PML-N had not remembered patriotism when it awarded the LNG contract to Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
