Shahzad Akbar was seen with JIT members: Nafeesa Shah

KARACHI (92 News) – PPP leader Nafeesa Shah has alleged that PM Special Assistant on Accountability Shahzad Akbar was seen with the members of joint investigation team (JIT) that interrogated the fake accounts case. Addressing a press conference on Friday, she also accused the government of influencing the accountability process. “The government is misleading the people. Zardari saved the country,” she said. PPP leader Saeed Ghani alleged that the JIT members give inside briefing to some people. “A lot is being done on the signals of Shahzad Akbar,” he said. Addressing the Senate, Sherry Rahman sought explanation over Shahzad Akbar’s meeting with JIT members. Maula Bukhsh Chandio warned that the PPP will not be responsible if chaos spread in the country. On the other hand, PM Special Assistant on Accountability Shahzad Akbar denied the charges against him. In a message on Twitter, he said that he had no meeting with the JIT members. He said that the DG FIA, the NAB, the FBR and SBP officers meet him daily. “The meetings are held with regard to official matters and assets recovery unit,” he said.
