Sharp increase in prices of food items hits the country

LAHORE (92 News) –A record breaking inflation has been observed in the daily commodities in Pakistan.

Prices are increasing rapidly but fall slowly and even in some cases the prices remain the same for a long time.

A number of residents are concerned about price hike in local markets, while the the government has failed to take action in this respect.

The prices of tomatoes has reached Rs. 100 per kilogram while the per kilo cost of green chilies reached Rs. 120.

The price of chicken has reached Rs. 350 per kilogram.

In the federal capital, Tomatoes are being sold in Islamabad at Rs 100 per kilogram.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken notice of the extraordinary increase in the prices of the eatables and sought report from the concerned authorities.
