Shawwal moon not sighted, Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on Tuesday

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad announced that the Shawwal moon was not sighted and Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on Tuesday.

A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad to observe the Eid moon.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman said that no evidence of moon sighting has been received anywhere in Pakistan. Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 3. “The information was clear in most parts of Pakistan and in some places it was cloudy. It was unanimously decided that Eid-ul-Fitr would be on May 3.”

On the other hand, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced to celebrate Eidul Fitr on Monday. Chief Minister Mehmood Khan along with provincial ministers will offer Eid prayers at Governor's House Peshawar.

Earlier, the zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Punjab and Sindh had also announced that Shawwal moon would not be visible whereas the Meteorological Department had also said that there is no possibility of moon sighting today, Eidul Fitr is likely to take place on Tuesday, May 3.
