KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday granted protective bail to the former provincial minister Jam Khan Shoro over arrest warrants of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). A two-member bench of the SHC heard the bail plea of Jam Shoro. The court granted protective bail to the ex-minister for 20 days and asked him to furnish bail surety bonds worth Rs1 million. The court expressed anger on the arrival of the NAB investigation officer to arrest the ex-minister. The court asked NAB officials, “If you have arrest warrants then will he be detained from the court premises?” However, the ex-minister has been accused of embezzlement of billion rupees in the funds of local government. NAB, under the supervision of former chief Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, had launched an investigation into the matter on October 2017. On Thursday, the NAB has issued non-bail able arrest warrants of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) member of provincial assembly Jam Khan Shoro. Special teams of anti-corruption watchdog have been raided for Shoro’s arrest on his residence. Following the warrants, PPP leader approached Sindh High Court (SHC) for protective bail. The court granted him bail over surety bond of Rs1 million till November 3.
