SHC orders closure of liquor shops, gives 30 days to devise sale strategy

KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh High Court has on Thursday issued order for the closure of liquor shops across the province for one month. The court also directed submission of policy over the liquor sale. The court issued the order while hearing the case related to status of liquor store. The court also issued order for making the ration-card like mechanism or bio-metric system for liquor sales at the liquor stores. The court gave a period of 30 days to the authorities concerned and directed them to devise a proper plan outlining the sale of alcohol in the province and submit a report regarding the subject.
