SHC rejects appeal of Sharjeel Memon for extension of interim bail

KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh High Court (SHC) has on Monday rejected the appeal of former Sindh information minister Sharjeel Memon and twelve other accused for extension of interim bail in a corruption reference in Karachi on Monday. The accused are facing the charges of corruption in the provincial Information Department of more than 5.7 billion rupees. Earlier, the SHC ordered to arrest Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader and former provincial minister Sharjeel Memon in Rs6 billion corruption case. The orders were issued after the court cancelled his bail in the mega corruption case. A heavy contingent of Sindh Rangers is present outside the SHC. Earlier, in September, the Sindh High Court (SHC) had extended the interim pre-arrest bail of the former Sindh information minister in Rs6 billion corruption case.
