LAHORE (92 News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has accused the government of using the coronavirus aid for its political interests. Addressing a meeting through video link on Monday, he demanded that a parliamentary committee should be constituted for the justified use of Corona Relief Fund. He said that the situation would have been controlled had the government followed the sincere suggestions of the PML-N. “The country is heading towards a ditch. The government is fighting against its opponents instead of coronavirus,” he said. The PML-N president said that the government had only made announcements for the daily wagers. “There is no system to fight against coronavirus,” he said. Shehbaz Sharif said that the national volunteer program was launched at the party level and the public strategy was followed. “During this difficult time, a campaign against coronavirus was launched. After consultations, comprehensive recommendations were compiled and forwarded to the government,” he added. He said that as the opposition leader, he presented the charter of demands to the federal government. “I also suggested testing, screening and treatment of coronavirus at the provincial level, but they went waste due to stubbornness of the government,” he added.
