Shehbaz agrees with FM’s decision for not attending OIC meeting

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s decision for not attending Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)’s meeting on Friday. Addressing the joint session of the Parliament, Shehbaz thanked the foreign minister for giving respect to the house’s sentiments and deciding not to attend the OIC meeting, terming that it is a good decision. He described it as a good decision but stressed, “We should also impress upon our friendly countries to stop the Indian External Affairs Minister to attend the meeting.” “It will be better if the friendly countries will give statements in support of Pakistan,” he added. Shehbaz Sharif also appreciated the Pakistan armed forces to retaliate Indian aggression. He mentioned that PPP’s late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was founder of atomic programme, adding that he should acknowledged. It is worth mentioning here that yesterday the opposition leader proposed the government not to attend the OIC meeting, in protest against the decision to invite Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Sawaraj. A day earlier, Qureshi announced in a joint session of the Parliament that Pakistan will not attend the OIC’s Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Abu Dhabi, against invitation to Sushma Swaraj. Addressing to the joitn session of Parliament, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan being the founder of member of OIC has taken the right decision not to attend the meeting of Foreign Ministers’ Council. “We should not at all sit at the forums where India is invited especially after its aggression against Pakistan and the gross Human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir,” he said.
Entire nation on same page to thwart Indian aggression: Shehbaz
Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif has said that the entire nation is on the same page to thwart the Indian aggression. Condemning the violation of the LOC by Indian aircraft on Tuesday, he said that the Pakistan flag will be hoisted at New Delhi if India started war against Pakistan. “On one side, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is washing the feet of the poor while he is shedding the blood of innocent Kashmiris on the other side,” he said. The PML-N president said that the Indian leadership should not push the peace of South Asia to fire. “It will be a big mistake of India to consider Pakistan’s peace-loving and tolerance as her weakness,” he declared. He urged the nation, especially PML-N workers, to express solidarity with the armed forces across the country. “Our armed forces are embodiment of passion for martyrdom, professional skills and exemplary valour,” said the PML-N president. Shehbaz Sharif said: “We are proud of our sons and jawans of the soil.” He said that he was ready to go to the frontline for the defence of the motherland.
