ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Responding to the press conference of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan termed that he has proudly tried to mislead the nation. Speaking to the journalists outside the NA, Firdous Ashiq Awan rejected the statement of the PML-N present regarding the Ashiana Housing Scheme and said that Shehbaz Sharif has been granted bail not a certification of innocence. The special assistant said that the PML-N president narrated fabricated stories to the nation for an hour. She mentioned that he will remain accused until the verdict is given. “The case of Ashiana Scheme is under hearing which verdict has not been given yet. But Shehbaz Sharif is proudly tried to mislead the nation and changed the picture of under trial case against him,” she said. Firdous Ashiq Awan also hits back at the opposition leader after he taunted Prime Minister Imran Khan by referring to him as Niazi. “PM Khan was proud of the fact that he was a Niazi. She said that Shehbaz Sharif should tell the nation about his own background first. Firdous Awan said that she was yet to know the reason for Shehbaz Sharif’s voyage to London. She urged the opposition leader to give details of the whereabouts of his absconding relatives, Ishaq Dar and Ali Imran. “The PML-N president should’ve let the people of Pakistan know about his plans of returning to the homeland rather than hurling unfounded allegations against the institutions and the government of Pakistan.” Earlier, addressing the press conference in London, Shehbaz Sharif said that the nexus between Prime Minister Imran Khan and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) froze his assets. The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) president mentioned that the alliance of NAB-Imran Niazi openly surfaced. “An alliance between Imran Niazi and NAB exists and they have frozen me and my families’ assets,” he added. Commenting on the key progress of the Ashiyana-i-Iqbal Housing Scheme in the Supreme Court, Shehbaz Sharif also mentioned that the Niazi-NAB nexus had once more been dealt a defeat. “My innocence was also testified by the top court,” he said. “Naeem Bukhari was representing the government in Ashiana case against me and had to back off as the claims against me were frivolous,” the PMl-N president maintained. He claimed that the government was responsible for the division among the political brass of the country.
