LAHORE (92 News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said notice should be taken of rising cases in Punjab and God forbid a big disaster will occur if immediate action is not taken. The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) president said while addressing a video link conference of party leaders from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. He maintained that the government is risking the lives of people by not conducting tests. He also slammed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for wasting crucial time on thinking amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. While noting that the number of coronavirus cases has been steadily increasing in Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif blamed the government for not sharing complete data with the nation and termed this as a criminal act. He demanded that the authorities should release facts about actual no of patients, suspects tested and screened so far. “We cannot stop the spread of the virus by suppressing data,” he added. The opposition leader urged the authorities to provide training to the paramedics as a lack of knowledge is putting their lives in danger. He also opposed the establishment of isolation centres in city centres. “Government schools, colleges, hotels, marriage halls and mosques should be turned into quarantine centers,” Shehbaz Sharif suggested. “Tests at large scale and quarantine centers, separate from hospitals, are solution to the coronavirus epidemic. There is lack of kits, medicines and other relevant medical facilities at all district and tehsil hospitals,” he mentioned.
