LAHORE (92 News) – Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif arrives in Islamabad for attending a session of the lower house of Parliament on Wednesday (today). As per details garnered, Shehbaz travelled with a two-member of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team and will be taken to the NAB office in Rawalpindi. The former Punjab chief minister was taken from Lahore to Islamabad through PIA flight, PK-652 at economy class. His PIA flight, PK-652, was scheduled to land in Islamabad at 9:50am. Earlier, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser had issued on October 10 a production order for leader of the opposition to be brought to the session on October 17. On October 5, the Pakistan Muslim league-N (PML-N) president was arrested by the NAB for his involvement in the Ashiana-e-Iqbal housing scheme. As per production order, NAB was asked to allow Shehbaz Sharif to attend the session on a daily basis under the rules. A day earlier, an accountability court extended the physical remand of Shehbaz Sharif until Oct 30 for a probe into the Ashiana-i-Iqbal housing project scam. The accountability judge extended Sharif’s remand on the request of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). NAB officials produced the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly in court amid tight security on the completion of his 10-day physical remand.
