ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has asked the government to resign over the Murree tragedy.

Expressing his views on the floor of the National Assembly on Monday, he demanded a judicial inquiry into the matter.

Without naming the prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif termed him as Nero. He accused the Punjab chief minister of planning rigging in the next local bodies elections instead of helping the people on the night of the tragedy in Murree.

He said that the Murree was not an accident, but criminal negligence. "All responsible of the Murree tragedy should be held accountable," he added.

Shehbaz Sharif said that the rulers did know nothing except making accusations. He said that they were termed 'Dengue brothers', but it was buried during the PML-N tenure that has again surfaced.

He said that the people, including women and children, were trapped in their vehicles for 20 hours and no one helped them.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with MNAs in his chamber.
