ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif participated in the sit-in staged by journalists and condemned the proposed restrictions on the media.

Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif said that the PML-N along with the PPP and the ANP will devise a strategy for the independence of the media.

"We will not allow the government to snatch the independence of the media. The PTI is contradicting whatever it stated," he added.

Shehbaz Sharif advised the government to desist from introducing a law for which it had to pay the price. "The media has itself fought the war of its independence," he maintained.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that they do not accept the proposed black law against the media.

"Journalists had defeated former dictator Pervez Musharraf. We will also send the puppet home. All parties are united on the independence of the media. We can send the 'selected' Imran Khan by using the democratic tool of the no-confidence motion," he maintained.
