ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has rejected Prime Minister Imran Khan's statement about referendum in Azad Kashmir.

In a tweet on Saturday, he said: "Casual remarks by PM Imran Khan in a political gathering are damaging for the Kashmir cause. His government's Kashmir policy has already given India space to maneuver. We reject any stance that is not rooted in the UNSC resolutions & the country's historical position."

In another tweet, Shehbaz Sharif condemned the statement of Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur about PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz.

In a message on Twitter, he said: "Disgusted by the shameful language Ali Amin Gandapur has used against Maryam Nawaz. His words are not only violent but also deeply mysoginist. Just imagine that people with this mindset have been given the responsibility to govern a country of 220 million people."
