ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has declared the appointment of the caretaker prime minister as unconstitutional.

In reply to the letter sent by President Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday, he said that the matter is being tried by the Supreme Court. "It is unconstitutional to start this process.

"I received the letter from President Arif Alvi at 9pm on April 5. Nomination of Justice (retd) Gulzar Ahmed by Imran Khan is illegal," he added.

Rejecting the name of Justice (retd) Gulzar Ahmed, he said that the deputy speaker's ruling about the no-confidence motion is unconstitutional. "The dissolution of the National Assembly is a controversial process. The SC took notice of the matter and ruled that any step will be subservient to its order. The consultation about the appointment of the caretaker prime minister is a hasty process," he maintained.

On the other hand, Shehbaz Sharif expressed his concern about reports of the international media regarding economic bankruptcy of the country. "What will happen if the country defaults? Imran Khan Niazi will be responsible if the country goes bankrupt," he maintained.

Shehbaz Sharif said that there will be no need for a foreign conspiracy because the government has hatched the conspiracy from inside.
