LONDON (92 News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has demanded an inquiry into an increase in the levy on petroleum. In a statement on Monday, he said that the petroleum levy matter should be presented in the parliament. “How the government looting Rs10 billion under the head of petroleum levy is talking about the poor?” he questioned. Shehbaz Sharif said that the nation is being meted out this cruelty despite a decrease in the prices of the international market. “The rulers will be held accountable for this cruelty. Why is the prime minister protecting the flour and sugar thieves?” he questioned. He said that Imran Khan is killing the people with the sword of inflation. “There is a deficit of Rs480 billion during the first eight months of the fiscal year,” he said. The opposition leader said that a 12.4 percent increase in the daily-use items is intolerable.
