ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has demanded the withdrawal of the Finance Amendment Bill 2021, saying that they will support the government if it tables a new bill.

Expressing his views on the floor of the National Assembly on Tuesday, he announced that the opposition will oppose the bill, if the government is adamant to approving it, in the House and streets.

The PML-N president said that the PTI will disappear in the next elections if it cannot see poverty in the country.

"The government wants to sink economy as well as security of the country. The government is trying to make the country slave of the International Monetary Fund. How will we save the atomic programme by carrying a begging bowl," he added.

He said that the country was on the verge of economic destruction.

"The government is expert at taking U-turns. The nation is being burdened with extra Rs 350 billion in the form of taxes. Asad Umar, Hafeez Sheikh and Shaukat Tarin have collected imposed taxes of Rs1,700 billion. The mini-budget had emptied the pocket of the people," he maintained.

Shehbaz Sharif said that he had talked about the Charter of Democracy and today the finance minister was also uttering the same words. "The country is already on the verge of economic destruction. The mini-budget will take the inflation to sky-high," he added.
