Shehbaz Sharif didn’t appear before NAB, to hold press conference

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday did not appear before the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) combined investigation team (CIT) in connection with an alleged graft in a housing scheme. The anti-corruption watchdog had issued a notice to Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif asking him to appear before a combined investigation team (CIT) on January 22 (Monday) in connection with an alleged graft in a housing scheme. The NAB asked Shehbaz Sharif to answer queries in response to NAB’s claim that his alleged misuse of authority resulted in loss of approximately Rs1 billion in a housing colony project. The Punjab CM also completed consultation his legal experts. On Sunday while inaugurating the project of Bab-e-Pakistan in Lahore, Shehbaz Sharif vowed to expose the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) before masses with facts. “The NAB has never summoned those whose money embezzlement is well-known from Karachi to Gilgit and Baltistan,” he said pointing towards former president Asif Ali Zardari. This project will be built on 117 acres at a cost of more than four billion rupees. The CM said it was not yet decided whether he would honor the NAB with his visit or not. Head of the institution, who sent him notice for constructing a road up to ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s house, should tell if he had no road near his house, he asked. Shehbaz Sharif will hold a press conference at his residence in Model today.
