LAHORE (92 News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has expressed grief over an increase in coronavirus cases and deaths across the country.

In a statement on Saturday, he said that the Centre and provinces should jointly review the conditions. “A meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) should be summoned. Frontline soldiers and people should not be left to the mercy conditions,” he said.

Shehbaz Sharif said that the coronavirus devastation had belied the government’s claims. “Coronavirus would have not increased had there been a strategy to impose and lift the lockdown. I again ask the government not to waste time and formulate a national and comprehensive strategy,” he added.

Shehbaz Sharif said that attention should be paid to relevant aspects as per conditions to minimize the losses.

He appealed to the people to adopt the precautionary measures. “A meeting of the Council of Common Interests should be convened to devise a strategy,” he said.

Reacting to his statement, Punjab Minister for Colonies Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said that Shehbaz Sharif would know about the facts after coming out of his room.
