Shehbaz Sharif files bail plea in LHC due to fear of arrest

LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has filed a bail plea in the Lahore High Court (LHC) due to fear of arrest in the assets beyond means and money laundering case. The opposition leader in the National Assembly approached the LHC seeking interim bail. In his plea, he took the stance that NAB might arrest him in a pending inquiry. “NAB made the case with malicious intentions as he has been declaring his assets regularly,” it added. The petition was filed through Advocate Amjad Pervaiz citing National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal and others as respondents. . It also stated that Shehbaz Sharif started his business in 1972 and played an important role in agriculture, sugar and textile industries and joined politics in 1988 for the betterment of the society. The plea further reads that NAB launched inquiry with allegations of general nature, under political influence of the current government. “Was arrested in the same case in 2018 and fully cooperated with NAB,” it maintianed.
