Shehbaz Sharif granted bail, not acquitted: Chohan

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Minister for Information Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said on Thursday that Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has been granted bail but not acquitted form the case. Responding on the decision of Lahore High Court (LHC), the minister said the Pakistan Muslim league-N (PML-N) workers are dancing and celebrating the decision of court as if Shehbaz has been set free. “The PML-N workers are above than common understanding. I am surprised on the reaction of them on the decision. The case has not yet ended,” he termed. Chohan declared the report of the joint investigation team (JIT) on Sahiwal incident as correct. He also asserted that Sharif has no political future. “Shehbaz and his son Hamza have betrayed Nawaz,” he claimed. “The tradition that a minister cannot be the member of PAC can be broken,” he said while commenting on the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). “I will not insist over the membership if anything like this is written in constitution however; when a corrupt lihe Hamza Shehbaz can be the chairman of PAC then it is my right also to be the member,” the minister explained.
LHC orders to release Shehbaz in Ashiana, Ramazan Sugar Mills cases
Earlier today, the LHC granted bail to Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif in the Ashiyana Housing Scheme and Ramazan Sugar Mills cases. The court ordered to release him after furnishing two surety bonds worth Rs one million. The two-member bench headed by Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed announced the verdict that was reserved earlier. The court rejected the bail plea of Fawad Hassan Fawad in assets beyond known sources of income case. However, he was granted bail in the Ashiyana Housing scandal. The court remarked that Shehbaz Sharif is not the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Ramazan Sugar Mills.
