Shehbaz Sharif not released from Jail despite LHC bail after two days

LAHORE (92 News) - Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has not yet been released from Jail despite the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) bail on April 14 in a money laundering case.

It is pertinent to mention here that a two-member bench of the LHC headed by Justice Sardar Mohammad Sarfraz Dogar granted the PML-N president bail on April 14 (before two days). The court approved his bail subject to submission of two surety bonds worth Rs5 million each.

The judgement that granted Shehbaz Sharif bail is yet to be signed by the judges part of the division bench. Once the order sheet is signed, his release order will be issued.

Earlier, the LHC granted bail to Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif in assets beyond known sources of income case.

Announcing the reserved verdict, a two-member bench of LHC approved the bail petition of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif in assets beyond income case.

During the hearing, the NAB representative completed his arguments. After listening the points of both sides, the court granted bail to Shehbaz Sharif and directed the authorities to release him from Kot Lakhpat jail.

The court granted the permanent bail to the PML-N leader and asked the petitioner to submit two surety bonds worth Rs5 million each.
