LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday sought a reply from the federal government till May 26.

Justice Ali Baqar Najafi questioned whether the plea is maintainable after the challenging the verdict in the Supreme Court and placement of the applicant's name on the ECL.

Azam Nazir Tarar, counsel for Shehbaz Sharif, contended that the matter pertains to the implement of the court order. He said that the court clearly allowed Shehbaz Sharif to go abroad on May 7.

"The order was announced in the presence of the applicant, law officers and the FIA authorities. Despite all these, Shehbaz Sharif was not allowed to go abroad. It shows that the state institutions are being used for political engineering," he added.

He said that the court orders were violated in an insulting way.
