Shehbaz Sharif seeks action against employees involved in Daska election theft

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has written a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, seeking action against the employees involved in the Daska election theft.

In the letter, he demanded that those involved in election rigging behind the curtain should be exposed. He also demanded that the responsible people in the federal and provincial government should also be exposed.

The PML-N president said that the public opinion was insulted by stealing the vote of the masses. "The process to penalized the responsible people should be started under sections 191, 184, 186 and 187 of the Election Act. The presiding officer, election staff, the DC and DPO were found involved in illegal activities," he maintained.

He said that continuous meetings were held with the government officials at the residence of a government officer. "The election and theft stained the democratic system of Pakistan," he added.

Shehbaz Sharif also demanded the Election Act, rules and code of conduct should be amended in consultation with political parties.
