Shehbaz Sharif sent to jail on judicial remand in Ashiana Housing scandal

LAHORE (92 News) – Accountability Court Judge Najamul Hassan sent Opposition Leader in the National Assembly arrested in the Ashiana Housing scandal was to jail on judicial remand on Thursday. He was shifted to Camp Jail and then to Kot Lakhpat Jail. He will be again produced in court on December 13. The NAB had sought extension in the remand of Shehbaz Sharif. However, the NAB prosecutor could not satisfy the court during the hearing. On October 5, the NAB had arrested Shehbaz Sharif in the Ashiana Housing Scandal. On November 29, the court had extended his remand for nine days. Meanwhile, PML-N workers scuffled with the police and tried to remove barriers outside the court. The police also resorted to baton charge. A large number of workers and leaders, including Marriyum Aurangzeb, Bilal Yasin and Khawaja Imran Nazir, were present outside the court. The police have arrested several PML-N workers involved in hooliganism.
