Shehbaz Sharif summons NAB officials with details of all cases on Monday

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Shehbaz Sharif on Friday summoned the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials on Monday (January 1) with the all details of NAB cases. Shehbaz Sharif chaired first meeting of PAC which was held in Islamabad. During the meeting, the PAC chairman directed that the NAB should come up with details for a briefing on the cases referred to it by the committee. The PAC committee also sought the details of cases sent to NAB and FIA in the past. Sardar Nasrullah Dareshak said that PAC should not give the impression of pressurizing any organization. “It will never happen,” replied Shehbaz. The chairman also said the PAC would take decision in accordance with law. He also sought cooperation of the members to run the affairs of the PAC in a smooth and constructive way. He further said that it was decided that he will not chair the meeting in which objections will be raised over the audit during PML-N era. “I will implement over this decided formula,” opposition leader assured. Shehbaz Sharif also asked the PAC secretary to call in officials of Water and Power Division for detailed briefings. Subcommittees will be formed for the audit papers of PML-N tenure, he added. “PAC has done a commendable job in past. It is an important forum and it should work diligently and without any discrimination,” asserted Shehbaz. Briefing the meeting, Additional Secretary PAC told that audit reports of last eight years are pending before the committee. The next PAC meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday at 2:30pm. Deputy Speaker National Assembly had issued production orders of Mian Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday enabling him to chair the maiden meeting of the PAC after its constitution. “Cases related to New Islamabad Airport are yet with NAB,” said Sherry Rehman following which Sharif asked for an explanation from the accountability watchdog. Sheikh Rohail Asghar questioned whether NAB and FIA will present the record of cases. “They are quite active nowadays,” replied Sharif.
