ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif supports the indemnity bonds in the room and opposes it outside. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, she said that the prime minister is being targeted to hold the accountability process hostage. “The opposition leader has accused the government of receiving extortion. The government is not the kidnapper, but a facilitator in the treatment of Nawaz Sharif,” she rebutted. The SAPM said that the Sharif family, not the government, is playing a game with the health of Nawaz Sharif by making him a shuttlecock. She said that the government played the role of a facilitator on humanitarian basis, but the PML-N’s narrative had targeted the personality of the prime minister. “The PML-N has imprisoned Nawaz Sharif in hospital. The government will ensure the implementation of the court verdict,” she added. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the government had decided on the conditional permission for Nawaz Sharif to go abroad or remove his name from the ECL. She alleged that the PML-N is playing a football with the health of Nawaz Sharif. “The children for whom Mian Sahib is serving the jail are not ready to give the money,” she said. The SAPM said that the names of Pervez Musharraf and Zulfi Bukhari were removed from the ECL as they were not convicted by courts.
