ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Minister’s Enclave residence of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has been declared a sub-jail. The notification – pertaining to the opposition leader’s house as sub-jail – was issued by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday. “In exercise of powers conferred under section 24(f) of the National Accountability Ordinance (NAO) 1999, I, Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) hereby notify the 26, Minister Enclave, Islamabad as sub-jail for the purpose of detention of accused under the NAO, 1999,” the notification stated. However, the NAB team shifted the former Punjab chief minister through car from Motorway after cancellation of the flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The NA session was delayed due to the late arrival of Shehbaz Sharif. The Pakistan Muslim League-N leaders walked out from the session on late arrival of the opposition leader. Earlier today, an accountability court extended the physical remand of Shehbaz Sharif until Nov 7 in Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing scandal. Accountability Judge Syed Najamul Hasan granted the extension on a request by the bureau. Shehbaz was presented in court a day before his earlier 14-day physical remand was to end. On October 5, the NAB arrested Shehbaz Sharif inside its Lahore office where he was summoned to record his statement in connection with the Punjab Saaf Pani Company case.
