October 30, 2018
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership on Monday decided that Leader of Opposition Shehbaz Sharif will not allowed to become the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman at any cost. Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired the parliamentary party meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) on Monday. The parliamentary meeting decided to ask the opposition for another name instead of Shehbaz Sharif. According to the sources, the meeting decided that the PML-N president’s name for the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman was not acceptable as the former Punjab chief minister is booked in NAB cases. During the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that he would not be blackmailed from the opposition and the unbiased and honest person would be appointed on the sea of PAC chairman. On the occasion, Imran Khan also briefed the parliamentary leaders about recent agreements with Saudi Arabia, UAE and China. Shehbaz Sharif – who is currently in the National Accountability Bureau’s custody – attended the NA session. On October 26, NA Speaker Asad Qaiser issued production orders for Shehbaz so that he can attend the National Assembly session today. Earlier today, NAB court extended physical remand of Shehbaz Sharif until Nov 7 in Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing scandal. Accountability Judge Syed Najamul Hasan granted the extension on a request by the bureau.
