LAHORE (92 News) - Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif Saturday wrote a letter to the Punjab Chief Secretary to complain about the removal of air conditioner from the cell of Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat central jail.

The PML-N president alleged in the written correspondence that the Punjab government ordered the Inspector General of Punjab prisons to remove AC from Nawaz's cell through a written communication.

"The removal of AC from the cell is violation of the recommendations given by a medical board constituted by the provincial government. The decision will create adverse impact on the health of Nawaz Sharif," the letter quoted Shehbaz as saying.

He feared that the non-provision of AC would lead to kidney failure of Nawaz Sharif.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Punjab's spokesman Shahbaz Gill said the provincial government had written no letter to the IG Prisons and that Shehbaz Sharif is issuing false statement.

Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif visited Kot Lakhpat Jail to see Nawaz Sharif, inquired after Nawaz and discussed matters relating party and political situation.

Maryam reportedly informed her father about the outcome of Black Day observed by opposition parties against the PTI government.
