Shehla Raza receives extortion, death threats

KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza has on Tuesday received an extortion and threatening letter warning her of blowing her up with a bomb. The letter written in Urdu language threatened the Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker to pay Rs 50 million extortion or she would be blown with a bomb. “You will meet the same fate as former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto,” the letter says. The letter was written from Rawalpindi’s Satellite Town area. Talking to media, Shehla Raza said that she had previously received threatening phone calls, adding that she is receiving threatening calls from a London’s number. She said that she has informed the authorities including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah regarding the threats. Director General Sindh Rangers Major General Bilawal Akbar issued order to increase Shehla Raza’s security.
