ISLAMABAD (92 News) – State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi has demanded that either the trial of Rana Sanaullah should be conducted in jail or the accused be shifted to Rawalpindi, saying there is a threat to the lives of witnesses in the drugs recovery case. Addressing a press conference on Saturday, he said that the trial of Rana Sanaullah is not being conducted, but the trial of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has started. “There is a threat to the lives of the witnesses. Moreover, the language used by the accused is also a threat for us,” he said. S The minister said that the government will make such people an example at all costs. “I was also threatened with dire consequences, but I am also adamant,” he added. He said that the government will not compromise on anything. “All institutions have been made independent,” he said. Shehryar Afridi said that they had caught Rana Sanaullah red-handed and each thing will be made public. “The world acknowledges the performance of the ANF,” he said. He said that Rana Sanauallah had inherited nothing and there is big question mark on his properties.
