Shehryar vows to retrieve every inch of state land from grabbers

ISLAMABAD (92 News) State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi on Sunday vowed to retrieve every inch of the land of state from land grabbers, saying indiscriminate anti-encroachment operation would be continued. The anti-encroachment drive in Islamabad is continued at the second day. The joint teams of Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad administration conducted an operation for retrieving the 240 Kanal land of Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad and retrieved more than 100 Kanal. On the occasion – speaking to the journalists – the minister expressed resolve to uphold the rule of law in the country. He said that they would not compromise on ongoing anti-encroachment drive across the country and added that every inch land of the state would be retrieved from the land grabbers. Shehryar Afridi examined the operation and said that the government has no personal enmity with anyone, so the land of state would be retrieved at all cost. He assured that in this matter no pressure would be accepted by any influential. The state minister for interior said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government does not believe in political victimization and added that he has no personnel enmity with anyone. Shehryar Afridi directed to retrieve 1709 acres land from land mafia and said that all the land grabbers and their abettors would be held accountable. He said that the state would maintain its writ at all coast. The minister slammed the previous governments over their alleged negligence towards encroachments and added that no one had taken notice of the encroachments on the land of Quaid-i-Azam University since 1986. It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Nayyer Bukhari’s house also located in the government land and included in the encroachment. The land revenue teams again measured the land and rang the danger bell for former senate chairman. The operation is likely to continue further two days.
