Sheikh Rasheed announces to close Mughalpura Railways Workshop

LAHORE (92 News) – Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has announced to close Mughalpura Railways Workshop till April 12. Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the minister maintained that the decision to close workshop has taken after one coronavirus case confirmed in Mughalpura Railways Workshop. It is pertinent to mention here that over 10,000 people work in the workshop. The workshop will be closed till April 12 and the work services to be continued in other cities. He said that Railways can operate 20 trains if Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan permits. He also said that workers over the age of 50 can go on leave after submitting application to their supervisor. Sheikh Rashid said that coolies can get Rs12,000 by sending a SMS on 8171. He also announced that all employees of the ministry will get salary on time. Lockdown unlikely to end on April 14 Sheikh Rasheed said that the nation-wide lockdown unlikely to end on April 14. “The chances to end current lockdown across the country are very low,” he added. “It doesn’t seem the lockdown will ease by April 14. If the lockdown ends by then, we will resume 22 trains.” Jahangir Tareen important part of PTI Rejecting rumours regarding rifts between Jahangir Tareen and Prime Minister Imran Khan, the minister said that Tareen was an important member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). “I don’t think there are differences between him and the prime minister,” he mentioned. “PM Imran has made it clear he will not spare hoarders of the sugar and wheat in the country,” Sheikh Rasheed said. “In the past, many had benefited from subsidies provided. When the [forensic] report will be issued on April 25, everything will be in front of everyone.”
