Sheikh Rasheed arrested over ‘murder plot’ allegations against Asif Zardari
RAWALPINDI (92 News) - The Islamabad police arrested Awami Muslim League chairman Sheikh Rasheed for issuing a statement regarding allegations of a conspiracy against former president Asif Zardari to murder PTI chairman Imran Khan.
Three provisions including two non-bailable provisions have been added in the case filed against Sheikh Rasheed. AML chief Sheikh Rasheed underwent a medical examination at the polyclinic. Health was declared satisfactory.
Awami Muslim League chief will be produced in court today. A heavy contingent of police has been deployed outside the Islamabad Court.
Lawyer Naeem Haider declared Sheikh Rasheed's arrest as illegal, saying that two or more cases on one charge is a violation of the Supreme Court's decision.
Faisal Chaudhary said that today there is a lack of enforcement of the constitution and law in the country.
