RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said on Thursday that deficit of Pakistan Railways will be eliminated in one year. Talking to the journalists, he pointed out that Railways is currently faced with the annual deficit of forty to forty two billion rupees. “We are pursuing zero tolerance policy against corruption. He assured the dwellers of Katchi abadis on the railway land will not be disturbed, Sheikh Rashid said. The minister vowed that the task given to me by Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding railways will be completed. He said that the network of Pakistan Railways will also be expanded to the every corner of the country in order to provide the people there with better travelling facilities. Sheikh Rashid said that proposals will be submitted with the prime minister for bringing improvement in the railways. He said most of the trains of Railways require upgradation. He vowed that he will keep check on railways even if he has to disguise and conduct raids. On the other hand, the railways minister is expected to meet PM Imran for a high-level meeting today.
