KARACHI (92 News) - Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman has demanded the justified distribution of water in the country.

Addressing a ceremony on Saturday, she said that Pakistan is attached to the world and it will have to go along with it. "Each type of life is being affected by the climate change. Sindh and Balochistan are facing draught," she added.

The minister was of the view that they will have to take immediate steps to avoid this menace. "We will have to save the river from pollution. The biggest world economies and localities are residing near the rivers," she maintained.

She said that the underground water and sea water is getting polluted due to destruction of the Indus Delta. "Rivers are the biggest assets in the world. Glaciers are ending due to climatic change. Pakistan is facing the draught and Sindh is the worst," she added.

Sherry said that the country will have to go to the solar energy. "The wind corridor at Jhapair could produce 40,000 megawatts of electricity," she concluded.
