ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed Senator Shibli Faraz as the Federal Minister for Information. Firdous Ashiq Awan has been de-notified as Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information. Asim Saleem Bajwa, who was earlier working as China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) chairman, has been appointed as Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information. He has also served as Corps Commander Southern Command and DG ISPR for a long period. 92 News had aired the news about the removal of Firdous Ashiq Awan on February 24. In Program ‘Ho Kaya Raha Hai’, Senior Analyst Arif Nizami had disclosed that Firdous Ashiq Awan is being removed. Sources said that Firdous Ashiq Awan has been removed for her poor performance. She was criticized several times for not talking in a logical way. The sources said that the changes have been made to present the government stance in a positive and vigorous manner. They added that the names of Senator Faisal Javed and Shahbaz Gill were also considered for the slot. The government also contacted Shafqat Mahmood and Sheikh Rasheed, but they refused to accept the post. Later, Shibli Faraz was assigned the slot. Earlier on November 26, Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa was appointed the chairperson of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority.
