ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former federal minister Shireen Mazari was released on orders of Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah conducted the hearing against the arrest of Shireen Mazari. During the hearing, Shireen Mazari said that she was arrested by uniformed people. “The uniformed woman pushed me away. I was tortured. They beat me, broke my nails. I said show me the warrant, which was not shown. I was put in a car and taken to the motorway. I asked where they were taking me, on which they said maybe to Lahore or my city.

The Chief Justice said that what happened to you is unfortunate. “ Worse things happened when you were in government. There have been enforced disappearances from Islamabad. This is what will happen when the constitution is not respected.”

The Islamabad High Court, while ordering a judicial inquiry into the arrest of Shireen Mazari, said that it was unfortunate that members of the Assembly were also arrested during the previous regime. “Members of the Assembly are still in jail today.”

The court ordered return of Shireen Mazari's mobile phone and other belongings. It also ordered IG Islamabad to provide security to Shireen Mazari at home.

Talking to media after the hearing, Shireen Mazari said that Rana Sanaullah do what you have to do. “The imported government thinks that they will end the independence march by intimidation. “I am thankful to the court for the order of the Judicial Commission.”

Earlier, police had arrested Shireen Mazari on the complaint of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE). She had been arrested from outside her house at E-7. A case was registered against her regarding transfer of properties in DG Khan.

Eiman Mazari, daughter of Shireen Mazari, had alleged that male policemen tortured her mother. "I was told that the Lahore Anti-Corruption Wing had taken her into custody,".
