SHO suspended over death of ATM thief sticking tongue out at camera

RAHIM YAR KHAN (92 News) – The Station House Officer (SHO) suspended over death of ATM thief – Salahuddin who went viral after a video of him stealing from ATM and then sticking his tongue out at the camera – in police custody. According to the reports, the police high officials took the notice of Salahuddin after 92 News highlighted the matter. They suspend the SHO and formed an investigative team to probe the matter. The sources said that the police officials tortured him during the detention in police cell. Parents claimed that his son was mentally retired and a case should be filed against the police personnel. The death of ATM thief raised many questions of law implementing departments and when the parents When parents reached at Sheikh Zayed hospital in Rahim Yar Khan and they were shocked after finding Salahuddin’s body. Earlier, the ATM thief suspect who identified as Salahuddin and arrested in Rahim Yar Khan a month after the video incident, passed away while he was in police custody. Reportedly, he was suffering from a health condition and was rushed to a hospital when his condition deteriorated, where he died. The district police officer has ordered an inquiry into his death, the exact cause of which would be determined in a post-mortem. Salahuddin was arrested when he was recognised by security officials in Rahim Yar Khan on Friday, after the video of him attempting to steal from the ATM and sticking his tongue out at the camera went viral. It was also reported that Salahuddin pretended to be deaf and dumb in initial investigation and he admitted several crimes during the interrogation.
