Shots fired at Jamaat-e-Islami MPA’s house in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) - Unidentified gunmen opened fire on the residence of a Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Abdul Rasheed at Lyari area in Karachi on Thursday. The Sindh Assembly MPA and his family members remained safe during the firing incident as police after reached after receiving information about the incident. He ruled out any threats to him and claimed the attack was to pressurise him for raising his voice against corruption and basic rights. He vowed that such cowardly attacks cannot deter him from serving the masses. Jamaa-e-Islami Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem also reached his residence after hearing about the incident. In his reaction over the incident, the Sindh Assembly MPA said that according to eye-witnesses two accused opened fire at his residence, who were riding motorcycle and fled away. On the other hand, the police have recovered shells of the bullet fired at the residence of the MPA and further investigation into the matter was underway.
