ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) on Saturday filed an application in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for stopping the election for the Senate chairman and deputy chairman.

SIC chief Hamid Raza, in the application, contended that the ECP should announce a schedule for elections on 11 seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. "The electoral college in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is incomplete for not holding the elections," he added.

He demanded that the ECP should use its powers to stop the Senate elections. The election for the Senate chairman and deputy chairman is scheduled for April 9.
