Sindh Apex Committee declares security situation satisfactory

KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh Apex Committee has on Monday declared the security situation in the city satisfactory but decided to carry out crackdown against street crime and drug mafia. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah chaired the meeting. Director General (DG) Sindh Rangers Major General Mohammad Saeed and Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Shahid Baig attended meeting for the very first time after being promoted to their new ranks. Other who attended the meeting include Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon, Home Secretary Shakeel Mangairu and Inspector General of Police (IG) Sindh AD Khawaja. While briefing the meeting, the home secretary said that 16 terrorists have been executed from the military courts, while the legal committee has also sent nine more cases in the military courts. Addressing the meeting, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that he wants Karachi free from street crime and advised citizens to lodge complains on helpline of police and Rangers regarding the menace. He also directed police and Rangers to launch operation against the drug mafia in the city. The Sindh CM directed the home secretary to shift Auto terrorism courts from Clifton to the Central Jail in Karachi.
